The Written Word

Here are sites that have to do with literature in every way. Some are to authors, some to genres, some for the aspiring artist, and some for those who just dig reading and don't really care about all that categorical goodness.
Native American Authors This is a great site. It's broken into three categories: Title, Author, and Tribe. Allows you to search for whatever strikes your fancy. Definately worth checking out!

The Library of Congress American Memory
This allows you access to over 1 million items. If you're looking for something specific, you may wanna check this out.

American Literature: General Resources
Wow!! This site has over 100 links to anything you could care about! Down at the bottom it also has categories like: Victorian lit, the Bible, and other stuff that doesn't have much to do with American lit.

Voices From the Gaps
This is another wonderful site. It's dedicated to women writers of various racial and ethnic backgrounds. Inludes biographies and texts.

Mr. William Shakespeare and the Internet This site contains just about anything you could ever want to find on Bill. It has works, bio, theatre, criticism, educational, sources, best sites, "other sites" , and much more!

Jewish American Literature Research Homepage
This site is about contemporary Jewish American authors.

Literati Network of Authors
"Home for a growing number of today's leading authors, the Literati Network provides a central web presence for published authors in all genres. It also serves as a resource for all current author-related information."

Writing and Resistance: African American Literature and Thought
This is a nice site. It's organized well and easy to navigate.

The Authors Registry
This site is pretty groovy. It hooks the aspring artist up with agents and publishers. It was put together by various writing guilds.

Don't let the title deceive you!! This site has links to absolutely everything, and I mean everything, you could want to look up. If you only look at one site, make this it!

Children's Authors
This site has links to 24 righteous children's authors, like Shel Silverstein, Dr. Seuss, and Beatrix Potter. Also has links for book lovers and illustrators.

Romancing the Web - The Authors and Readers Meeting Place
I haven't really looked at this one yet...lemme get back to you.

Authors Network
This boasts itself as a forum for talented new writers. Has links such as: showcase, submit, contact, etc. Also offers an e-mail discussion group for those who would like to discuss their work, or give others an opinion.

Ever the Twain Shall Meet
This is a site that's all about..yep, you guessed it..Mark Twain. Contains texts, thoughts on the texts, links, etc.

Quantum Leap Publishers Inc

An Online Library of Literature
This site offers a bunch of classic texts. If you're looking for that sort of thing, this is a good site.

Electronic Text Collections in Western European Literature
Wowie. This site has all kinds of categories such as: Catalin, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, Galican, Old and Modern Norse, French, Swedish, Latin..the list goes on and on.

Voice of the Shuttle English Literature Page
This site rocks my world. Has all kinds of categories such as: anglo-saxon, renaissance, restoration, victorian, contemporary, colonial, genres, theory, cultural studies, text-analysis, bibligraphies, and the list keeps going!
