The Door
by Cat C.
prayerpwr web site

I held you once, then said goodbye,
promised myself I wouldn't cry.
Since that day, we've never been apart.
There's a door with your name in my heart.

Tears did fall, in spite of the promise,
if you wanted me, it would hurt less.
But since that day, we've never been apart.
There's a door with your name in my heart.

It's been hard, but the life I've built makes me proud,
and still I wait for the moment when I can say it out loud.
Ever since that day, we've never been apart.
'Cause there's a door with your name in my heart.

ADOPTION

Our arms are empty,
but our hearts are full.
Out silent home,
waits for you to come.

We pledge our lives,
we will love and protect,
we'll do our best,
to assure your happiness.

For now we go on alone.
Taking comfort from each other.
While we hope and pray,
we'll get our chance to hold you one day.

The Essence in the Rain
by Michael M.

As I lay quietly, still in my bed;
Numerous thoughts swarm round in my head.

I silently listen to the patter of rain;
As an essence swirls round me, a feeling, a pain.

Motionlessly listening to the tears from above;
The life giving shower is as soft as a dove.

As the rain calms, my heart skips a beat;
And before I know it, I'm falling asleep.

"Peace, be Still"
© Nina Stewart Bell

When in encircling darkness,
with vision dim;
When terrors assault--
So cold and grim;
When tumultuous sea,
Beat and whirl--
Buffeting thee,
Then plead, as his children will,
For the sound of His voice,
As He says, "Peace, be still!"

Then ever, the waves
Grow less, and withhold
The searing torture
Of fear and cold.
And, in silent joy,
A grateful heart
Will rest in peace
As woes depart.
Never will fail, That gracious will,
To soothe His beloved with--
"Peace, be still!"

A Poem by Kacie

Sometimes I wonder why you seem
to shy away from me.
Is the reason because you want to explore,
or do you want me to let you be?
It really seems to be confusing me,
was there something behind that kiss?
Or was there a rule to this game of yours
that I just overlooked or missed?
I have been trying my hardest,
to be an understanding friend.
But I think that you should try to realize
that I just can't pretend.
I know that it's not possible,
because believe me, I have tried.
I always think...is it worth the worry, loneliness,
and the tears that I have cried?
And the answer always comes to me
to be a definite "yes".
Why then, do I need to hold back
on something that I should confess?
Why am I stuck on someone
so far away from me?
Is there something special?
Was it meant to be?

We Need Each Other

When the sun's shining bright on a beautiful day,
When the sky is opaque--all cloudy and gray,
We need each other.

When we're sitting with flowers or trees tall and strong,
When we're in a field of thorns and all has gone wrong,
We need each other.

When the crowd is with us and cheering our lead,
When all have turned against us and ignore our need,
We need each other.

When our bodies are well and our spirits are high,
When we're flat on our backs and feel we'll die,
We need each other.

As children of God with Jesus our Brother,
We can share in His love with love for each other,
Not only do we need--But we have each other! Praise God.

Did You See the Sky This Morning?

God painted the sky this morning
With red and yellow and orange and blue
Did you see the sky this morning
This was one of God's gifts to you

Who is this who can paint
A forever new and changing scene
Did you see the sky this morning
It will never appear the same again
