May your pawn structure harmonize with the development of your pieces!

I'm currently a member of USCF (US Chess Federation) and my rating fluctuates between 1400-1550, which makes me a "C" player. I have lots of chess software, including Extreme Chess, Powerchess98, and all the Chessmasters back to CM2000 and up to CM6000, so give me a holler if you need tips on chess software. I'm also a bit of a chess buff...for example, did you know Bobby Fischer had never beaten Boris Spassky in his career until he met him in the World Championship match?

Last summer I went to the FIDE World Championship knockout tournament in Las Vegas. Almost all the bigtime chess players were there (except for Kasparov and Karpov). I managed to get a seat in the middle front row and was rewarded by Judit Polgar playing on the table directly in front of me. She's a pretty hot wench with a very striking appearance in person. Anyway, I got a case of chess "overload" at that tournament, and haven't played over the board since. The winner was Khalifman, a strong GM but definitely not in the same class as Kasparov.

I'm probably one of ten people on earth that has received a "lifetime" ban from an internet club. I was a member of ICC (internet chess club), but was banned for life for being too controversial. Seems the owners of ICC are extreme leftwing (I'm not talking liberal...I'm talking COMMUNIST) and they didn't like people who didn't cow down to the lefties in the chat channels. There'd be a civil discussion started on welfare, for example, and the commies would start namecalling. ICC admin would be notified but would do nothing, regardless of the insults..but when somebody who wasn't a communist replied in kind they'd be muzzled, or in my case, banned for life. ICC discriminates against people who don't have the same viewpoints (politically) as the owners and have banned many people. Never did get my refund either. Screw 'em. If you get the hankering to play internet chess I highly recommend FICS or Yahoo chess. Plus, why pay to play chess on a crappy server like ICC that is down 1/2 the time when you can play for free elsewhere?

The chess-board is the world; the pieces are the phenomena of the universe; the rules of the game are what we call the laws of Nature. The player on the other side is hidden from us. We know that his play is always fair, just, and patient. But also we know, to our cost, that he never overlooks a mistake, or makes the smallest allowance for ignorance. Thomas Henry Huxley (1825-1895)
