Who I am

Name : Damien Perrotin

Gender : definitely male

Age : well, I am getting to the point I become a bit shy about it. Suffices to say I was born in 1972

Family : single

Ethnicity : Breton. I am quite multicultural, but my primary identification is with Brittany and with other Celtic Countries (Wales, Cornwall, Ireland, Scotland…) I consider myself an European and strongly favor European integration. French citizenship is secondary.

Education : I have a degree in political science. Albeit I do not use it very much in my everyday life, it is somewhat useful when it comes to writing.

Job : pencil pushing. Definitely dull, but I need it

Political opinion : I’d say moderate left wing autonomist. Basically I favor moderate state intervention in the economy to prevent market from running amok. I would however definitely oppose any encroachment on individual liberties to promote “equality” or “values”.

My position on some political issue :

·        Death punishment : definitely against

·        European integration : definitely for, if possible as a federation

·        Privatization : if it is profitable to customers. It is definitely the case for medias, telecommunications and energy, for rail transportations, however, some precautions have to be taken to keep security from deteriorating

·        Legalization of marijuana : definitely for. Prohibition does not make much sense when so many people actually use it.

·        Defense of France’s influence in the world : just drop it, we have no money to waste with this kind of tomfooleries.

·        Defense of the international role of the French language : same as above

·        Defense of family values : I don’t care if you believe in this kind of thing, as long as you don’t try to force them on me

·        Gay marriage : no problem with that

Religion : I kind of believe in reincarnation, albeit in the occidental way. I definitely don’t long for self-extinction. I am interested in Jesus only in a historical way and I find creationism laughable. I am not very sympathetic to free-thinkers, however, as they usually are just another kind of bigot
