I dreamt a strange dream last night
the sky was dark, scattered with mists of white
I could hear you softly calling my name
searching for me as if in a game

I called to you, but you could not hear
I search for you, my heart pounding with fear
The mist grows thicker, your voice more faint
don't leave, I beseech you, please wait

I seek, but can't find you, feeling all alone
I need your strength to battle this world of stone
The strength I see deep within your heart
in this world of darkness, do not let depart

On the wind, I hear a sweet sound
Is it your voice, or just my imagination unfound
I wish you were here for I am cold and afraid
just one touch from you, any price I would pay

Through the mist I see a blurred image
a man of true heart, strength and courage
Searching for one who is lost in the storm
is it a trick of my mind, or a man of true form

Slowly the darkness fades from sight
I awake to the dawn, and sweet shining light
I turn and find you fast asleep
your arms around me, for safety to keep

You have never left me alone
you were always there, your love has shown
Keeping me safe from all harm
tucked away deep in your love so warm
