pop. 60,000) to meet tourist and socio-economic requirements.

Fall 1989 Pedestrianization of 11th of August street in Shmeissani,
Amman, to meet increasing demand on commercial and leisure
use. 50 students.

Fall 1990 Safeguard policies to be implemented on Wadi Musa (town,
pop. 25,000), the Gateway to Petra, to meet the increasing flux of tourists
visiting the archaeological sites. 47 students.

Fall 1991 Urban renewal project on Sweileh (town, pop. 120,000) to
preserve its urban value as one of few Ottoman settlements in Jordan. 54
students.

Fall 1993 Conservation and renovation of the old Ottoman Hijazy railway
station of Maan with a proposal for reuse. 52 students.

Fall 1994 Urban design policies, again, for renewal of Madaba to
meet peace demands and the increasing numbers of tourists visiting
the heritage and archaeological sites. 43 students.

Fall 1995 Remodeling six districts in Amman with studies on legislation,
transportation, and urban form. 52 students.

Fall 1997 Rehabilitating the historic center of Irbid ( town,
pop.150,000) to meet tourist and socio-economic requirements. 45 students

Spring 1989 Drawing planning criteria for education, health, leisure,
etc. to meet the socio-economic structure of the Jordanian
population.

Spring 1990 Planning “Intelligent Future” city in Jordan in
response to the Gulf War crises in the economy of Jordan.

Spring 1991 Safeguard policies to prevent and to face natural
and man-made disasters in the Amman area to include transportation and
emergency plans.

Spring 1992 Replanning Aqaba (seaport town 110,000) for the
year 2010 with execution zoning and landuse plans, transportation and environmental
studies, population density distribution policies.

Spring 1997 Replanning a Turkish peninsula with the purpose to preserve
historic site
and war cemetry.
