Consciousness Studies

There is a community of scientists and scholars who are exploring the nature of consciousness. They want to know such things as follows: what physical structures underlie our consciousness and our awareness of our consciousness; how does the brain create such elements of consciousness as the color red; is it possible to construct an artificially conscious being and, if so, what is minimally necessary to do so; in what way do prevalent folk and traditional spiritual perspectives correlate with scientific perspectives. There are a great variety of perspectives that take all views and the resulting discussion is lively and fascinating.
