What is the environment? The environment is the totality of surrounding conditions and the area in which living and nonliving things exist. The environment is the air, the water, the soil, the plants, the animals, and more. Students eagerly study environments to observe how environmental factors interact. The environment consists of anything and everything which surrounds us and has a potential effect on our being. That makes the study of environments interesting, complex, and current, for not only are humans in the environment, we affect environmental changes. The environment has an effect on our daily lives.
