Mixtures and Solutions is a science unit designed to introduce middle school students to the topic of chemistry. Mixtures are substances held together by physical, not chemical forces. Anything you can combine is a mixture. Solutions are also mixtures. A mixture is a combination that can be separated back into the initial substances. An example of a mixture is salt water.
Before beginning this unit of study, a mini unit in the area of Matter is suggested. Enjoy investigating, mixing, observing, and solving the experiments!
