Welcome to Banglar.com's Kazi Nazrul Islam page. No other writer in Bangla was as versatile genius as Nazrul except for Ranbindranath Tagore. Nazrul changed the face of Bangla poetry with the publication of the poem, Bidrohi (The Rebel). He is also called the Rebel Poet.

Nazrul's poems and songs provided inspiration to the Freedom Fighters during Bangladesh Liberation War against Pakistan in 1971. He is recognized as the national poet of Bangladesh. His song is used as national marching music of the country.

This page is designed for Nazrul lovers everywhere. I'm a fan of Nazrul since I was a child. After high school, I purchased the complete Nazrul collection published by Bangla Academy. I read most of it. Unfortunately, I only have limited amount of information available here in the US. I'm hoping to add more information next time I go home.
