ADDED:

The Whaley House now has night time tours through the old town Trolley" Ghost and Gravestones" tour, where they visit several San Diego sites and then cap it off with the Whaley House. Soho sells these tickets at the Whaley House and they cost $28.00.

They also offer special private tours. These are 2 hours at night for 2 people at $150.00 These have been very popular.

You can also become a "member" of SOHO! This includes several benefits! Members of SOHO for $25.00 per family receive free admission to the house all year and discounts on items; receive the newsletter 4 times a year, special events, etc., lots of benefits to being a member and it goes to saving this county's heritage, so is a good donation.

SOHO also has some items for sale! One is a great T-shirt that has the Whaley House on it as it appeared in an 1885 golden era magazine; it is a steel engraving of the house, and then above it in sort of gothic style print it says, "America's Most Haunted?" These shirts come in black with red writing or white with red. The house has also been filmed 3 times since we have been there, most recently '10 most traveled' for the travel channel, discovery channel and most haunted also by the travel channel, the BBC is planning a shoot there also.

SOHO has held 2 living history events there so far, one was Antonio Garra, the Indian chief that Thomas was one of his executors, and Pio Pico, governor of California. These were scholar/actor venues and were really well received. SOHO has a strong mission of both saving and preservation of the architectural and cultural landscapes, but also one of education.

In addition, they also will be having a special Halloween tour, 3 nights, Oct. 26th, 27th and 31st. This will be a candlelit vigil to Campos Santos, where the graves of Yankee Jim Robinson and Antonio Garra (the Indian chief who Thomas Whaley was one of his executors) and then a very special tour of the Whaley House itself. Details will be furnished closer to the event.
