Update 12/14/07: The Whaley House e-List has been completely reset. When I left the list, it became a Spam Filled center of messages. I came back to it last week, and was surprised. I wiped out ALL the spam related messages from the archives, and removed everyone (posting a message before doing so) - for those that wanted to be a part of the list, simply email me, and I'd manually re-add you. The list is also NOW set so that all new users must be approved by me (and must state WHY they want to be a part of the list - all to ensure we don't get spammers), and all messages are set to go to PENDING and must require approval (from me, or a moderator). Here's hoping this makes a better, cleaner, list! And I'd love to see folks who are sincerely interested in the Whaley House to return to the list.
Update 06/07/06: There have been a few people who have mentioned that clicking on the message forum or the guestbook takes them out of the Whaley House page - and that they thought it would be better to have them pop up as new windows, rather than having to hit the BACK button to get back to the Whaley House page. So there you have it! This shouldn't be a problem if you have pop up blockers installed. Also, a few weeks (months?) back - I have the board set up that you must register to post on the board now, in an attempt to stop, or at least cut down the amount of spam.
Update 8/14/05: It was brought to my attention that there were some abusive members on the forum. Those entries have been deleted, and the IPs (and ranges) banned. This should reduce the amount of trouble that was found there. Also, as a side note - people who sign the guestbook and/or forum - and are asking about to see if they are related to the Whaley's - please keep in mind, who you want to contact is the folks who run the official Whaley House site. They can be found at WhaleyHouse.org.
Update 03/08/02: I was informed that the chat room wasn't working properly. Well found out Parachat had changed their settings. So after getting in contact with them, the chat room is now back up and running. Hope you're enjoying the site!
Update 06/11/01: The previous message board feature on this site went out of business. All messages were sadly lost. However, I have found a new message board to use, and it is there, waiting for messages to be posted. So if you have some things you'd like to share with others, there's the place to post it. You can access it from the menu. Thanks for stopping by!
Update 06/10/01: Though I am not currently working on the website, I was surprised by an email from the folks at SOHO. They gave me some updated information since taking over the Whaley House in November. I think most of you will be excited by the newest bits of news and plans they have - which include one of the most popular requests - night time tours! Update 01/01/01: : Well folks, due to time constraints - the Whaley Site is now officially 'closed'. Don't panic, it won't be taken down or anything like that. Everything from the site, guest book, message forum - everything - will continue to work as it always has... however, there will be no more updates. The site is considered 'done'. Also if you're seeking information about the Whaley House, please use the telephone number found in the Contact information on the menu link! The email address will continue to work but it is unknown if any emails that are incoming will be answered! Thanks for the years of kind words! I thank you all!
