THE CUSHITE HEBREW:
WHO ARE THEY AND WERE DO THEY COME FROM

Who are those people who call themselves Cushite Hebrews? Isn’t that a
contradiction? How can an individual call themselves Cushites and
Hebrews?
The
answer is quite simple from the true and proper analysis of what a Cushite and
Hebrew is how do they continue to exist in the present day and time.
First, Cush (Kush or Kish) is descendant of the prophet Noah
through his father Ham (Cham) according to Genesis 10:8. Cush is one of
the fathers of the civilizations of the fertile crescent of Mesopotamia and
also of the civilizations of northeast Africa.
Basically, Cush and his family
populated the areas known as Sumer, Elam, Akkad, and Babylon. Today these
civilizations stand as ruble and mere remnants of the ancient past.
The Mesopotamian area thrived in the arenas of art, science, mathematics,
medicine, and spirituality. The Patriarch Abraham and his father Terah
(descendants of Shem and Eber) lived within the bounds of this great
civilization and were successful business men and administrators in the
government of the time before their great migration (Terah died in Haran before
reaching Canaan).
Despite
the bias in modern biblical scholarship and geography many places in Africa and
Asia still use the name Cush and its variations. For example, Hindu Kush
which is a mountain range in NE Afghanistan . It extends west from the
Himalayas. This region was and is inhabited by dark skinned people.
However, the current inhabitants of the region are mostly mixed with
Indo-Aryan/European migrants, but archeological studies show that Afro
Hamitic/Cushitic people inhabited the area (Van Sertima, African Presence in
Early Asia).
The evidence also shows that Africoid
people were the progenitors of the Asiatic civilization i.e. India, Iran, Iraq,
and China. Present day Nubia and Ethiopia was known as Kush by the
writers and historians of ancient times. Any Bible dictionary, history
book, or ancient map will identify this area as Cush. The Greeks, Romans,
and Persian called that region of Northeast Africa Cush (Cush and Kush
are the same places and persons). This is evidence that the inhabitants
of Cush (Ethiopia) acknowledged themselves as descendants of Kush or
someone of the Cushite family system. We will not even get into the
highly advanced civilizations that they built.
Ethiopia
is a Greek word that they used to identify the Africans on that particular
continent. It does not reflect the real name of the people in that area.
The word means Burnt or black faces ( I assure you that none of them were
burnt, but naturally brown, dark brown or olive color).
This
term became very popular, and when the word Kush appears in the Torah of Moshe
it was mistranslated as Ethiopia all through out the text by Euro-gentile
translators. His Imperial Majesty Haile
Selassie of Ethiopia traced his lineage not only to King Solomon son of
King David, but to a long line of Kushite ruler all the way back to Adamah
(Adam). It does not matter how much scholars try to say that the
civilizations called Kish, Kush, Cush in Africa and Asia are not related the
archeological evidence is coming forth along with scriptural evidence.
The
Hebrews are descents of Shem through Abraham whom YHWH made a special and
sacred covenant (the promise of a great nation and a right to the land of
Canaan in return of his faithfulness and obedience) meant to last for all
times. Without going into great detail at this time the name probably
came from another family member name Eber ( thus the Word Hebrew). It is
an actual fact that since the time of Abraham to present day the Hebrew
Israelites from the family of Jacob (Shemites) always dwelt in the all
encompassing civilization of Hamites, Canaanites, Cushites. This is
just a list of the relation Israelite Community had with the House of
Cush :
1. Abraham lived in a Hamitic/Cushite civilization called the Ur of the
Chaldees a great Sumerian city.
2.
Abraham (by divine authority) moved into Canaan a Hamitic empire ruled by
Canaanites descendants of
Ham.
3.
Abraham moved into Egypt when famine hit Canaan.
4.
Jacob and his sons and daughters also suffering from famine went to Egypt .
5.
Hebrews lived in Egypt for 400 years under Egyptian culture and service until
liberated by Moshe.
6. Moshe married an Ethiopian woman.
7. Cushite and Hebrews mixed seed in many periods thus the existence of
Lemba and Falasha communities In Africa that retain their Hebrew
cultures. Not converted by Jewish European communities.
8. Many of the Hebraic cultures retained and practiced by West Africans some of
which came to the United States through the Trans Atlantic Slave Trade.
Many Africans in that region are families of Hamities, Hebrews, and
people who migrated there to escape Greco-Roman oppression. This a period
in history Not shared by the masses of academia.
In America, Dr. Shalomim HaLevi and the Yisraelite Torah Covenant Community(Ha’
Yisrayli Brith Yahad) are reestablishing the families of Cushite Hebrews in the
Diaspora. The Cushites and Hebrews families merged in the past and
continues to this day a “divine” Anointed family.
