Discipleship

Discipleship is the work of teaching, training, and modeling the Christian life in a setting to help another strengthen their life and relationship with Jesus Christ. Discipleship happens anytime one Christian has a positive influence on the spiritual development of another. Sometimes it's one on one, other times it's in group. We strive to make discipleship a way of life, building each other continually. At Albany Wesleyan we have several areas that we focus discipleship and training for each member of the family.

Sunday School

Sunday School is held each Sunday at  9:45 AM. Classes for all ages, including multiple adult classes are available. The aim is not only to teach the Bible, but to make it practical and the principles applicable in todays world. Classes are structured by age and the lessons are both challenging and fun. All our teachers are well trained, several hold degrees in educational areas or Bible.

Children's Church

During the morning message children grades kindergarten through third grade have their own service. In that service they not only learn about the church and ministry they perform all the tasks of worship. Children lead the singing, the prayer, serve as greeters, ushers and more. This helps prepare them for the time they will spend worshiping God in the adult service.

Sunday Night Adult Bible Study

The 6:00 PM Service is one of both praise and worship, but also one of teaching and Bible study. The pastor leads the service from the main floor and time for questions and interaction with the lesson is given. Studies range from books of the Bible to  theological themes to modern social, economic, emotional or family concerns.

Sunday Night Youth

At 6:00 PM each Sunday night teens meet in the youth room for an hour of games, conversation and Bible study. The hour is fast paced, entertaining and designed to meet the needs of todays young people. The time is adult led, but the teens have a large roll in the events. This group often holds additional activities throughout the year.
