What does Blind Voting mean?

Blind voting means voting for a site without visiting it first.

You're casting a vote for a site you don't even know what it looks like! See what I mean? ;) If you haven't visited the site, how do you know it deserves your vote? Be kind, don't vote blind, go see the site before you start voting for it. You might discover some great sites!

Why does people get so upset about people not seeing their sites? Well, one of the points of joining these competitions is getting visitors to your site. Perhaps you have pages they need feedback to, and in general it's always so nice to get more visitors. You want more visitors to your site, don't you? So you see why people want you to visit.

Also, it's concidered "unspirited" to not visit a site before agreeing to exchange votes. Unspirited means you're not following the unwritten rules of the fights which makes the fights so enjoyable. To exchange votes means that you agree to vote for a site and the owner of that site agrees to vote for you. If not agreed otherwise you vote for the other person 6 days a week, Monday - Saturday.

So you see, if you haven't visited the site, how do you know you like it? How do you know you WANT to vote for that site? You might find something offensive on it, or you might find it a waste of space. LOOK before agreeing to vote for a site, it'll be more fun to vote for the site later because you know who you're voting for!

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: I haven't competed in the Site Fights or Web Brawls or a similar competition ever, and I hardly know what you're talking about. Can I still join?
A: No, this webring is for people who are active or have been active in the Site Fights, Web Brawls, or any other similar competition.

Q: I'm not fighting anymore, can I still join?
A: Yes, if you're against blind voting, please do join!

Q: I've seen other webrings about this out there, why do you want to copy them?
A: This is the original one, it's just not very famous. When I started this more than a year ago I searched long and hard for a similar webring. I didn't find one so I started one myself. Looks like these kinds of webrings are popular!

Q: If you own the original webring, are the others imposters?
A: Well, it's good that the webrings about blind voting are popular. This way the message will go out to many people. I don't mind there being many other webrings about this out there.

Q: I don't believe you! This isn't the original one!
A: Fine, that's your problem, not mine. I doubt I have something to gain by lying.

Q: I don't have a spirit page, can I still join?
A: Yes, you can put the webring on any page you like. Spirit page is recommended, though.

Q: It's gone a week and you still haven't added me, should I be alarmed?
A: No, I might be on a vacation, I usually add people within a week.

Q: I'm not at all involved in the Site Fights / Web Brawls / similar competition anymore, is it ok if I still join?
A: Goodness yes! Go ahead, join!
