Throughout the ages humans have struggled to survive.

In the early years, living conditions were harsh and average life spans were measured in a few decades. Though severely limited by their small number of sensory organs humans have been able to learn important facts about nature. Major advances in learning arose as a consequence of humans creating new tools which permitted them to improve their abilities to see, move, remember, measure, communicate and shield themselves better (from disease and mechanical injury).

This learning process has lead to tremendous technological advances that have contributed to improved survival and enhanced quality of life for a huge percentage of earth inhabitants.

Currently it is not uncommon for humans to live for at least seventy earth years under conditions of good health and free, for the most part, of horrific fights for survival.
