A few things to note about this month's calendar:

• Take note of the weekdays — a month can begin on any day of the week.
• The hyperlinked words are festivals, the names in bold italics are the names of gods or heroes (heroes' names are in parentheses) to whom the particular day of the month is traditionally sacred — note that these are almost all concentrated in the first "decade" of the month, i.e. during the waxing moon. The Agathos Daimon being roughly equivalent to a combination of the Will (capitalized) and the Guardian Angel, the second of the month is a good time for self-blessings and other such work.
• The only "movable" sacred day is that of Hekate, which always occurs on the last day of the month, whether that is the 29th or the 30th. (Although it is simpler to regard the month as composed of either 29 or 30 days, in actuality the old reckoning was that there were alternately "full" months of 30 days and "hollow" months of 29 days, in which the 29th day was dropped: thus the 30th day followed the 28th day in a hollow month, and Hekate's day was always the 30th.)
• Remember that the days starts at sunset of the previous civil/Gregorian day.
