Flacius

Why make a page about Flacius (say flak-i-us, as in a flak jacket)? First of all, who is he? Mattias Flacius Illyricus is an obscure Lutheran who following Luther's death in 1546 combated Melanchthon and his followers (termed Philippist)on many different issues. He and others formed a motley bunch known as Gnesio-Lutherans ("True Lutherans"). Flacius was very fiesty and quite a polyglot. If he wrote in English he would have accused me of breaking Strunk & White's rules in the previous sentence: "avoid pretty qualifiers."

Bottom line: I had to think of an email name, I had just been reading post-Reformation Lutheran theology and thought it would be a good name.

I will expand on this someday.
