David has said a couple of things that seem to indicate he sees it that way too, like all the stuff said about 'him' is a creation of the fans or something. See what I mean here.

Whatever we may think we see of him, all that we know is reflections and shadows.

I have never actually talked to the real David Duchovny (actually I did, but only for a little while and only to tell him stuff, not to ask.) and so I haven't had the chance to really ask him about any of the stuff I write about.Except for Karma, which I asked him about in chat. his answer is in David and Karma So, if you do not like it, get mad at me, not him.

I also feel it is important to say that I believe David has an absolute right to privacy. He gives his time in his work to performances for us, and he sometimes gives interviews to help satisfy our need to know, but that is all he offers and that is all I would wish to take. I would not write to his home address if I could get it. If I saw him in the street or in a restaurant, I would not go up to him and ask him about the meaning of life. He never gave me permission. I just adore him and use his image and interviews and performances as inspiration to lead me closer to Truths.
