Central California Attack Squadron

The C.C.A.S. welcomes all Captains (whether veteran or rookie) to attend the only MWC-sanctioned Radio-Controlled Warship Club in Central California. We are centered in the Bakersfield area -- but also welcome those from farther away.

C.C.A.S is a new chapter of the MWC (Model Warship Combat, Inc.) that has been formed to serve the Central California area. It is the first "Small Gun" Club in all of Central California.

We are dedicated to the building and battling of radio-controlled 1/144 scale WWI and WWII warships. Each ship is equipped with one or more BB cannons which are capable of blasting holes into an opponent's balsa hull. If equipment fails, or too much damage is received, the ships sink! They are easily recovered and patched for another battle.

For the specific times of our meetings (which change every month), please contact our Chapter head, Rodger Baker of Bakersfield, who has recently taken over the reins of our chapter.

Recruitment and Building Meetings

Contact Rodger Baker for exact dates. These meetings are held in Bakersfield, California, and they are used to introduce new Captains to the hobby of building and operating Radio/Controlled 1/144 scale WWI & WWII Warships that actually shoot BBs at each other and sink each other!

This time is also used to work on our ships and exchange building skills. And, of course, to discuss and exchange experiences in battling our ships (which are easily repaired after a sinking -- all the key parts are waterproofed)!

Field Meetings

Contact Rodger Baker for exact dates and location. "Balsa Bottom Sound" in Coyote Park (near Morgan Hill, California) is no longer available for use, but Rodger has another location lined up (pictures coming soon).

Our Ships

We are a new club and are still actively building ships. So you are NOT behind the learning curve.
