Welcome to Shockingly Beautiful,
my piece of Bananamania on the Web. This page is devoted to spreading the
word about Banana Yoshimoto, a writer for the so-called Generation X. Her
stories are very contemporary and surreal.
Much credit should be given to Russell
S. Wasden, who translated Amrita, and to Ann Sherif, who translated
Kitchen, Lizard, and NP. Without them, we would not
have the American versions of her work. Unfortunately, there are a couple
of her books that have been translated into German or Italian, but not English.
This page is under constuction and will
include the following features:
- Book Reviews
