I had some issues about that movie. First of all Laura had issues with her hair being brown. So why did they have some skinny blond headed girl play the part (now I like this girl for Dawson's creek)? Also her hair was not down all the time, wearing a man s hat. Also Laura did write that Lousy Lizzy Jane poem, but she never recited that in class. The mother was too old in the movie. She should have been a woman in her late thirties, no later. Also mom had blond hair. The movie didnot show Nellie, in which it should have because she was a rival, times trying to take Almanzo from her. Sorry, I felt this movie was a discredit to her, and I would like to see a mini series done nore accurately.

Thanks for your page. I hope to put up a Laura page one day. Is anyone else as outraged as I am at how badly the TV show misrepresented the Ingalls? I don't mean embellishing some facts, but actually defaming them. A while back I saw where Laura beat up a woman she thought had a thing for Almanzo. Then it showed Laura moving back home with Ma and Pa. As a married woman, Laura was nothing less than a mature, honorable, hard-working farm wife. The Wilders did face terrible hardships early in their marriage, ut Laura was fiercely determined to stick it out. She never would have run home crying to Ma and Pa. She must be rolling in her grave. I can appreciate what Michael Landon did for family programming, but I wish he had used a fictitious family instead of b sing it on the Ingalls.

I am a member of the Ingalls family, however we have not been able to trace our exact location on Laura's family tree. maybe you can help. My family is originally from central New York. My Grandfather's name is James L Ingalls and his wife {my Grandmot er} Belle L Ingalls. Grandpa died in Jan 1990 at the age of 96- so he wasn't much younger than Laura. I've been a huge fan ever since my second grade teacher gave all the girls in her class a copy of Little House in the Big Woods for Christmas. Thank --you Mrs. Jezinack! I wish they would do some books about Almanzo's early life. I would love to know more than what is in Farmer Boy.

My favorite books when I was a child were the Little House books. I bought the whole series when my daughter was born a few years ago and I've re-read them all 3 times to date! I've also bought all the Rocky Ridge series and the Brookfield books and think they are true to the style that Laura used in her LH books.
