JOHN STEINBECK is one of my favorite authors. He was raised right here in the Salinas Valley. Many of his stories were based here and in nearby Monterey. Steinbeck had a way of describing things and places that not only made you feel as though you were there; but that you never want to leave. For sure, If you read one of these books, you'll never want it to end.
