There are three important indicators which identify
a cult separating it from true Christianity. While I believe it is not
necessary for a cult to be identified by all three, here they are:
-
Use of Scripture
A cult will likely use the Bible, however they
will inevitably use writings outside the Bible and will usually call these
writings as good as, or even better than, Scripture.
-
The deity of Jesus is distorted
A cult will deny Jesus is the Christ and is wholly
God and that He is the sole way to redemption.
-
Salvation solely by grace
A cult will deny that the only way of
salvation is solely by grace.
I have included here some links to websites of organizations
which, in my opinion, fall under the above definition and identification.
-

of Latter Day Saints (Mormons)
-

Watchtower Society
-

Adventists
-
Roman Catholicism
-

I have further, included here links to organizations
which, as far as I can tell, are committed to publishing information about
cults and combating them.
