Dark Love

A man of the night,
A woman of the day.
Eerie moonlight,
Guides their way.

A night of love,
A day of sorrow.
A crying dove,
A weeping sparrow.

Swiftly passing years,
Of slowly passing days.
Cheeks awash with tears.
Eyes filled with haze.

A white lace gown.
A black wool cape.
A dark silent town.
Bells tolling late.

A gasp for air,
An unholy kiss.
Free flowing hair.
Innocent bliss.

Heart barely beating,
Breaths shallow.
Warm blood flowing,
A monster's swallow.

The last dark moment of time,
Slowly closing eyes.
Softly he wispers a line,
Just before she dies.

"As the night bells toll,
May you rest peacefully,
I now have your soul,
So we can love eternally."
