Quiet Moments

Quiet moments
In my life
Are breif moments
In my life.

They are few
And far between
Perhaps one or two
Beside a quiet stream.

Then the chaos of life
Rushes back over me
Full of work and strife
And tries to drown me.

So I shall live
From one quiet moment to the next
And give all I have to give
From one quiet moment to the next.

This poem was written one summer when I was very confused and worried. There is a creek running through a park near my house. I spent a lot of time there that summer. Nature has a way of calming the nerves and making everything sort itself out without much effort.
