RINGO, of course isn't my real name.  Its just a "handle" or "nick" that I've been using in ICE and ICQ.  If you want to know more about what all that means, keep browsing, there are links to both in my favorite sites.

For the record, I'm not a Beatles fanatic.  I imitated Ringo in High

School and the first time I logged on ICE, it was the first thing I thought of.  I thought it was unique and simple.  I've learned that it isn't as unique as I had hoped.  There are other RINGO's out there (Too many to list on ICQ and plenty others that already have my handle registered in other chat rooms.  But I'm in too deep to change!

But the funny story came when someone (Liz, aka PEPPER) asked me if I liked beanie babies.  I thought this was a strange question out of the blue like that.  But it turns out that she thought that I was named after the Beanie Baby, Ringo Racoon.  Well, as the story unfolds, my wife loves buying beanie babies for my two kids, so when she was out she found Ringo Racoon and bought it for me.  If you don't know about these critters, they each have a name tag with a little poem on it.  Ringo's says:

"Ringo hides behind his mask
He will come out, if you should ask
He loves to chitter. He loves to chatter.
Just about anything, it doesn't matter."

So with a poem like that, how could I not adopt him as my mascott?
And now Ringo sits on top of my monitor watching my every move, his image fills my WIN95™ screen background, and his poem fills my ICQ info and guest books that I have visited.
Well, there you have it, the story behind the name.
