To Happiness
Is life really that hard? Why not try the following recipe for happiness?
As Dale Carnegie says --- when life gives you lemon, make lemonade!
Here's how:
[I] CHANGE YOUR VOCABULARY
Words can pep you up! Change your feelings by changing
your vocabulary! Try "gorgeous" instead of "tasty", "out of this world"
instead of "good", "fantastic" instead of "okay", "brilliant"
instead of "clever", "fascinating" instead of "interesting"!
[II] DON'T REPLAY BAD SITUATIONS IN YOUR MIND
Would you watch a bad movie over and over again?
That's exactly what you are doing if you dwell on horrible events that
have happened!
[III] REMOVE REGRETS FROM YOUR LIFE
There is no "rewind" made in life. Be glad that
you DID! It might have been a painful experience, but you have emerged
from it wiser.
[IV] TRY NEW THINGS
Don't be afraid. discover the unknown -- it's usually
more fun!
[V] DON'T BE ANGRY FOR TOO LONG
Anger makes you ill -- emotionally & physically.
It does not change the person you're angry with. Life goes on for him/her.
Use your energy for more pleasurable pursuits!
[VI] FORGIVE !
Forgive your enemies. You'll feel like you've just
thrown away a heavy sack you've been carrying all these years. You'll never
forget some of the things they have done to you. But you can choose to
remember without the anger. Most important of all -- forgive YOURSELF for
the past mistakes you have made!
[VII] GET RID OF ENVY
Sure, your friends seem to have it good. But they
are envying other people who have nicer clothes, more money and faster
cars. Pause for a moment and think of all the things that are going right
in your life!
[VIII] HELP OTHER PEOPLE
You'll forget your problems. You'll feel purposeful.
You'll make more friends.
[IX] DON'T WORRY
All that time and energy you waste worrying will
not change anything! Ask yourself: What's the worst that could happen?
Prepare yourself emotionally for it.
[X] TRUST THE UNIVERSE
The universe is a perfect place. Everything happens
for a reason. Things always have a way of
working out. Maybe not now. Not tomorrow. But eventually. You'll see.
