AOL HELP:

Why do I get "Unable to locate DNS" or similar
messages when try to use Netscape with AOL?

Everyone who has AOL has experienced problems with netscape sometime or another. The problem is that the winsock.dll in AOL for win 3.1 is 16 bit (even if you are running win 95 you could still have the win 3.1 version of AOL) and Netscape 4.0 for win 95 requires a 32 bit winsock.dll. The simple way of correcting the problem is to either get the Windows 95 version of AOL or the Windows 3.1 version of Netscape - I would suggest getting the Windows 95 version of AOL though. NOTE: AOL for win 95 only comes on CD, not on disk...so if you need to get it, just call up AOL at 1(800)827-6364 and they will send you a copy at no charge OR you can download it at the following address: ftp://ftp.newaol.com/aol/setup95.exe (11 megs).
