The Netscape Toolbar

Netscape Toolbar Image
Look familiar? It's at the top of your screen. Click on one of the links below to find out more about what each button does.
[Back] [Forward] [Home] [Reload] [Images] [Open] [Print] [Find] [Stop]

THE BACK BUTTON: This button will take you back to the last web page that you have visited. You can usually go all the way back to the first page that you saw today. The button will turn gray (like the forward button in the picture above) when you cannot go back any further.

THE FOWARD BUTTON: Press this button to move forward through the pages that you have visited today. This button is really only useful when you have already seen the page that you are looking at. Therefore it will be gray, and unusable, through most of your time using Netscape.

THE HOME BUTTON: This button will bring you back to your starting page, which, if you haven't changed it, will be Netscape's site.

THE RELOAD BUTTON: If the web site that you are trying to visit is taking an unusually long time to load (say, a minute or two), then you can press the reload button to try that web site again. Also, if you are visiting a web site that changes frequently, such as an online newspaper or a weather map, then you can press this button to see the latest version of that web site.

THE IMAGES BUTTON: You will most likely never have to use the images button. However, if you see outlined boxes instead of graphics all over any given web site, then you will need to press this button to see the images.

THE OPEN BUTTON: Press this button if you would like to visit another web site. For more information on accessing new web sites, click here.

THE PRINT BUTTON: Press this button to print out a copy of the web page that's on the screen. Remember, this will only allow you to print the page, not the entire web site.

THE FIND BUTTON: Press this button to search the current page that you are looking at for a word or phrase. You cannot search other pages on the Internet by pushing this button (an example of a good search utility is Yahoo)

THE STOP BUTTON: If you would like to stop loading a web site, and move on to another one, click on this button. Then click on the open button to type in a new web site.
