The Tales of Sir Hendrick The Tales of Sir Hendrick

November '1997 The Diary of Sir Hendrick:

ahh, this is the first of my journal in this "new world" here, I've put off doing this for a long long time and now is the time to pick up my thoughts and again place them into here. This wondrous land so different from my own, that i am not sure how or really where to begin.

Maybe I shall start with the basics of how I came to be in this city I am told is called Atlanta, so here is the simplistic. I dont know. I am not sure, I dont understand really how it happened. Does that Help? of course it doesna, all I know is that one day I was dying in my world and here I am the night morning in this one, still dying, and laying next to what I have been told is an old structure called Stonehenge? I can only assumee it had to do with Klarom's prophecy of dying in a land that is nothing like my home.

So where shall I start from here? Possibly the beginning? I think I shall try to do just that. So here it is from what i can remember.

Month of Autumn Winds, in the 3rd year of his lord Karrick.

I never thought I would be here, in his majesty castle, and especially not as a guest and thought of as royalty? Me? you have to be kidding. I am just plain Hendrick, a former(hahah aye right ye nary know me that well now do ye?) thief, and a former slave. Yet here I am playing the role of a baron of the northern lands, and a guest at the Birth day of his majesty, Karrick, king of the Karrock regions.

What am I doing here? I wonder, and yet I know, I was employed to retrieve(haha) a rather valuable crystal jewel of Lord Klarom, the ruler of the southest regions. and yet I have not seen any thing remotely resembling this jewel in the week that I've been playing this game. I need to change into another quickly before I become known for the fraud that I am playing.

Where is that peddler when you need him. I cant seem to find him anywhere today. Ahh there he is the little sneaky person he is:

Coray!! where is my stuff!!!.

I have it here you will be a'needed the book again wont you Hendrick?

ahh yes I will and everything ye could find on it.

well than here it is, take it and your supplies and leave me with my silver and we shall be fine.

ok ok, here is the silver I owe you coray, now I must be a'going, so take care my friend.

ahh at last, the info I need, and the rest of tools I had to replace. ahh what is this? Does the royalty have no creativity? hidden behind a bookcase in the library is the doorway to the elemental jewel... humm this does not sound that hard..

hum now i see why it may take awhile, this must be the largest library I have seen so far. and there must be many dozens of bookshelves in here to search..and that's just on the walls.

many hours later... ahhh here is something, a latch is this? no wait, two to be precise, blah how did they expect one idiot to open a doorway like this with a spring latch and a touchpoint here and yards from each other, ahh well I have to wait until the night as it is anyways to finish this business.

that night...

I wondered throughout the retrieving my gear and my gathering my possessions together into my packs, as likely I would be a'leaving in a tad bit of a hurry tonight after this adventure here. The Day seems to last forever as I am constantly pressed with the tiring details of the this position I am forced to play as the Count of de'frinz, the land of which I have never seen, nor heard of for that matter, myself. Yet it only lays a few fortnights ride east of here, supposedly.

Ahh at last the night has arrived and another ball to slip away from, where at this enlightened courtiers are happily drinking, er rather drunk already, the night away. I head towards this library and enter it lighting my lil carry latern and search for the false side once again. ahh press here, and a slight flick of my wrist and my dagger hits the pressure brick, and lo and behold, what appears before my eyes that of a dark passage, ye would think that the 'nobility' would quit with these dark damp passages but they seem to enjoy using them so much, I guess it helps mute their inner selves or something.

humm a small door, and opening upon a large cavern? I know I've been hiding underground but this seems a bit ridiculous, even for this pompous arse of a Duke that is my Host. But at least its dry now. Though I nary do a'think I will be looking at the walls to carefully, the decoration is just not to my taste, almost like the scene from the inner rings of Hell with all those Demons engraved upon it. Reminds me almost of Sahric's Temple, my old 'master' before it was destroyed.

this guy for sure has no imagination, This place is almost like an old temple, with a small inset door at the end of this cavernous room. and of Course its of worked black wood, and let's not dwell on what is going on in this hellistic erotic engravings upon it. SO now what, shall I break this 'satanic' door down or shall I just open it and leave it in one piece and hope that I dont offend any wondering gods of this duke.
