I am really excited about it being February. It's not just that my birthday is this month, although that fact alone has made my heart happy towards February. But, anyhow, I just like the month, and I love that we are edging toward Spring. I just started reading a book yesterday by Henri Nouwen called "Reaching Out: The Three Movements of the Spiritual Life." I really like it. It is engaging. It is true to my experience. It starts out with a few chapters on the movement from loneliness to solitude, and with my recent move to Silver Spring (which is great and full of blessings, don't get me wrong, but...) I have felt loneliness in a way that is uniquely strong, painful, and real. Unique to me - not that others don't and haven't felt this way, but that it took me to a new level. Wow, where am I going with all of this. Everyone read this book! Okay. It will get you thinking about our journey toward God. I ordered it to participate in a 3-films-1-book discussion group, but I think the response was so great that I may not actually make it into the discussion group.

Tonight Liz and I have our first night of a pottery class near Eastern Market. The class is held at the Capitol Hill Arts Workshop (CHAW). I am sooooooo exciiiiiiited to be doing pottery! I also have a personal goal of having a display/sale at Eastern Market at least one Saturday this summer. Is that crazy? Well I am going to go for it because it is a dream and God is the God of even crazy dreams.

I am adding a journal page. Woohoo! Don't expect profound things, because... they're not coming. And, not only that, but no one knows about this page so no one will probably see it for 5 years except me. haha. I am sitting here on a Saturday afternoon with my aunt next to me, she's talking to my mom on the phone. Very exciting. All right. First journal entry has come to an official end.
