For those who are not sure what is good in the world of literature, I offer the following lists as a place to start. They are not comprehensive in scope, nor are they the only "good" bits of literature out there.
- The Newbery Medal is given to the best of children's and young adult literature every year.
- The Caldecott Award is presented for the best picture book--this is a children's book award.

- Kay Vandergift has the best Young Adult Literature site on the web. TONS of information about authors and books.
- Another excellent site is maintained by Rob Timmons, an English teacher in Iowa.
- Last, but certainly not least, is Barr's English Class, which influenced me to start this site in the first place (You will notice the influence!). Excellent resources from a great teacher!
