Paths of energy that improve tone and outlook are part of ubiquitious age old indigenous healing arts rich traditions. Early human discovery of subtle avenues that lead towards deepening mind, body connectivity offer support, promoting health and well beings. For instance; gentle spontaneous movement, or movement arts techniques that dredge, or help clear channels to recharge and regulate energy flows in the body. Underscoring the way many alternative health care shrugs off the mold afforded by empirical sciences, laughter, the best medicine is always free of charge.

Looking to complimentary / alternative methods, today as in ancient times attaining optimum levels of vitality through practicing "feeling attention rich activity" is an ideal. Mildly energizing activities / techniques combine mind will and mild exertion to help promote "eustress", good stress. For instance, gentle gliding movement lubricates and helps clear joint surfaces of debis and spurs, causes less wear and tear, helps with balance problems and calms stressed out nerves. Providing healthy feedback are activities that use less energy than they generate, causing a "saving" of energy and increases in capacities. For example, increased oxygen stores as a result of deep breathing combined with medium to low demand activities cause relaxation via endorphin release while gently tonifying a physical system. Greater oxygen stores can improve health as well as lung elasticity plus increased relaxation translates to improved responses to stress. In conventional sports increased oxygen consumption is needed because energy expenditures are higher as a result of heavier workload. Oxygen consumption, cardio-pulmonary function is heightened, but so is the energy expenditure as more energy is expended to sustain heavier workouts. The idea is to provide an avenue toward balance between work and rest that increases latent potentialities in a way that is safe and can be done by any one.

Connecting to deepening body mind togetherness can provide improved reactions to stress, while acupuncture evolved out of this climate and supplanted Qigong, or "energy mastery" (em) many people were un-willing and or unable to practice the art on their own. A deliberate yet relaxed exercising of body and will, energy movement can gently squeeze organs improving blood micro circulation to and from those organs, or by using sound, energy is directed to various areas as a unique pathway for change and renewal. For instance saying the word Bong, Bong ,Bong" one may feel energy and warmth traveling to the lower back region. Many people experience a comfortable sensation from these practices in expanded therapy settings and later at home sessions to produce therapeutic results.

Qigong is closely related to Tai Chi (tai ji), according to JAMA, the best method of exercise helping to prevent falls in the elderly(1). These two arts seem a vanguard of complimentary therapies, with broad well documented effects. (See Healthworld Online - Free Medline, look under Qigong)

Intuitive movement, a popular avenue of energy work is a departure from strictly formatted movement practices. This can allow an "unwinding" so one can enter the sphere of deepening relaxation and aliveness. Distinct from, yet possessing some of the characteristics of the formatted movement practices: Obvious and subtle movement, breath and inter-subjective feelings of moving energy are common. The smaller the movement, the greater the return of energy, subtle taking preference as. going with "feeling" is more important than the actual movement itself. Increases in amplitude, synchrony, cohering, strengthening of brain waves have been recorded in encephalogram readings of persons who practice "seated" meditation.

The authentic movement practice is a fusing of positive intent, breath, will and fluid grace that helps introduce a breakthrough in unlearning the usual responses to stress-ful activity through evoking new strategies. Drawing from imagination provides more tools to help improve the quality of life, especially for chronic pain sufferers and others. Many people learn to evoke their own inner language of relaxation and energy. A bio molecular neuro-transmitter evoked body wisdom? Beyond the science, cultivating an expansive sense of well being is (energised) well, being.

Energy therapeutics view the body, mind and universe as coinciding space time events. A "method" reflects a deep ecology. Meditative practice (quiet aspect)or, "practicing not doing", can easily be mistaken for philosophical nihilism or void. Actually, training the "substance" (dan) sequentially promotes "function" (active aspect). An initial phase of apparent inactivity preceeds, reflecting rythyms of nature, body moving, or observed as non moving, one plays in the earth`s beneficial ionic flux, a window of opportunity for personal, global renewal, transformation. Unplanned gains may be unintentional successes, something out of nothing, void manifesting substance.

Applying external (wai qi) methods non contact healing, the latter shown to cause cancer cell death and reversal of mutagenic cells in cultured medium(2).

Understanding EM using bio molecular models is the most accepted means by the prevailing reductionist paradigm (is the dummy prize ?). Mind body holistic therapies share a common denominator of participants exhibiting what was once thought extraordinary control over the autonomic nervous system through the release and inhibition of stress modulating neurotransmitters, hormonal chemicals,enzymes and others.(3) Modern care stresses the role of the mind and emotions as it has been proven that approximatly 70% of all illness are stress related, yet, not all related phenomena can be explained away with a biochemical model (see studies on MPD). Research shows that symptoms and often some condition itself can be alleviated or even erased through methods such as meditation or centering prayer. Though much of present discussions about remission focus on the relaxation response being responsible for changes toward health improvement, a narrowly focused scientific paradigm may not allow for other types of explanation. It is often suggested that through resonant morphogenic bio informational fields present in people and environments a "healing space" is created. Many shamanic practices seek to create an air of goodwill in a way that is culturally acceptable where the healer will enter altered states of consciousness to retrieve information in an attempt to discover the root cause of illness. The altered states are difficult to quantify, so much outide speculation abounds as to the true nature of such events.

Authors Eisenburg/Wright (1985) state, "Qigong evokes every behavioral intervention known to man simultaneously and blends these with such elements as isometrics, isotonics, expanded aerobic capacitance, gait and balance training and others".

However interesting the science, experiencing the "energy", is about feeling good, thats what we really hope to share!

The study of free energy as "elixir" present in the universe and self is deep ecology, adventurous relationships between ourselves and environment, experiential bio physics. It is commonly believed a resonance exists between people, plants and animals that is responsible for improved rates of healing in the chronically ill, contributing to lower incidence of chronic conditions in persons with little stress in their lives. Moving beyond simple personal health goal orientation into the sphere of transpersonal global renewal may bring unsought harmonizing effect. Energy arts major contribution is tissue building and helping to instill reverse entropy. Always elucidating the principal of balance, maybe not so much spiritual excitation.

Energy exercise / play may help shed new light on anomalous events deductive reasoning is helpless to explain such as seen during spontaneous remission. "Self actualizer" traits have conclusively been shown to factor into the health of those who recover from serious illness despite projected outcome. Ubiquitious microtubules, microscopic force vectoring of piezo electric apatite bone matrix, magnetite present in the meninges and spinal fluid of all mammals(7), iron in hemaglobin ect...these underlying bio electric components of man support the possibilty of shared harmonic resonance with this realty and other realms.

EM has a long association with spiritualism, laying on of hands and distant healing. Subtle energies have been shown as somehow connected to healings quite a distance from the healer, sometimes before the actual "healing' takes place(4).
