In this section we will discuss about the different advancement of Internet. The Internet has advanced a lot since its beginning. At first Internet was used to share information between the defense agencies. It was mainly made to share information and also for a backup of the information. But now it has advanced from that stage. Nowadays the users have changed from mere defense agencies to overall public. ie presently internet is being used by people all over the world. They use the internet to get information ( as internet provides a whole lot of information ), Communicating between their relatives or friends, Hear music, Watch movies, Book Tickets, Purchase online etc...... ( with the help of this we can come to know how much internet has developed or advanced). Some of the Great Advancements of the internet are given Below:-
E-Commerce or Electronic Commerce has come up with the help of Internet or it is an advancement of the Internet. Electronic Commerce actually means doing Business online (ie Electronically). If a Company implements E-commerce then it will be having some advantages. Some of the advantages that the company will get are given below : -
If a Company or business implements a e-commerce site very well, then the web can significantly lower both order-taking costs up front and customer service costs after the sale by automating processes. It means that the cost of taking the order, Customer Service cost and after sales cost can be reduced. E-commerce allows people to create completely new business models. In a mail order company there is a high cost to printing and mailing catalogs that often end up in the trash. There is also a high cost in staffing the order-taking department that answers the phone. In e-commerce both the catalog distribution cost and the order taking cost fall toward zero. That means that it may be possible to offer products at a lower price, or to offer products that could not be offered before because of the change in cost dynamics. However, it is important to point out that the impact of e-commerce only goes so far. Mail order sales channels offer many of these same advantages, but that does not stop your town from having a mall. The mall has social and entertainment aspects that attract people, and at the mall you can touch the product and take delivery instantly. E-commerce cannot offer any of these features.
E-commerce can also sometimes lead to larger purchases per transaction. For eg Amazon ( an online book shop ) offers a feature that no normal store offers. When you read the description of a book, you also can see "what other people who ordered this book also purchased". That is, you can see the related books that people are actually buying. Because of features like these it is common for people to buy more books that they might buy at a normal bookstore. So this is an advantage for Amazon.
A Web site that is well-integrated into the business cycle can offer customers more information than previously available. For example, if Dell tracks each computer through the manufacturing and shipping process, customers can see exactly where their order is at any time. This is what FedEx did when they introduced on-line package tracking - FedEx made far more information available to the customer. · People can shop in different ways. Traditional mail order companies introduced the concept of shopping from home in your pajamas, and e-commerce offers this same luxury.
A company can build a catalog on the web that would never fit in an ordinary mailbox. For example, Amazon sells 3,000,000 books. Imagine trying to fit all of the information available in Amazon's database into a paper catalog!
With automated tools it is possible to interact with a customer in richer ways at virtually no cost. For example, the customer might get an email when the order is confirmed, when the order is shipped and after the order arrives. A happy customer is more likely to purchase something else from the company

Another product which comes from the use of internet is the Online Education. Many universities are moving towards online Education ( ie giving education online) By this students are able to study online. One advantage of this is that the students will also be able to study or send messages to the instructor regarding doubts online. This is now being implemented everywhere not only in the education field but also in the medical field.
The languages used in the internet such as HTML has also advanced since its beginning. Before HTML was used to make web pages and know JAVA Scripts, JAVA, DHTML, XML etc.... are being used. These all makes the web page more dynamic and interactive to the user. There is also many programme such as Microsoft FrontPage, Netscape composer which helps the web designers in making the site with less effort. And nowadays Multimedia sites are being made with the help of Macromedia FLASH, Macromedia Director, Dream Weaver etc... with which sounds, animation and video clipping can be embedded into the site so as to make the site more attractive. I and my friends have also developed some sites using Flash. I have given links to those sites at the bottom of the page.
The communication between people in the internet has also advanced. Before we
were only able to send messages between each other. But now we are able to see
the person (using video conferencing ) or even talk to each other using some software's.
