Aphistis Who?

Good day to you, friend. My name is Bill Johnson, and I'm the creator & maintainer of Aphistis' Realm. I'm 18 years old, and a recent graduate of high school. I created this site at the end of 1997 with the intent of recognizing excellent amateur art of all types.

While Aphistis' Realm is dedicated equally to different art forms, my personal talents are weighted heavily toward music. I've been a student of trumpet for eight years, and along the way I've picked up several other brass instruments, plus guitar. I spent three years as drum major in Blackford High School's award-winning Marching Bruin Pride, and trumpet section leader in the symphonic band. I also spend a great deal of time composing, and several of my 70 or so original compositions can be found here in Aphistis' Realm.

I can occasionally be found trying my hand at prose writing, and I have a few short stories to my credit. Unfortunately, I have little talent for poetry, and even less for creating visual artwork. Instead, I'm heavily active in drama, most recently in BHS' drama club and International Thespian Troupe #2481, and I've done it all: acting, crew, tech work, and I've even had the opportunity to direct a production myself.

Outside of art, my interests include video games (especially console RPG's), computers, the Internet (of course), trivia (BHS Quiz Bowl placed 3rd in the state in 1999), Greek mythology (it's so much more interesting than Roman), and tennis, among others.

I hope you like what you find here, and please feel free to download anything you like, for public or private use. If you have any suggestions or comments, feel free to get in touch.

Now, on with the show!
