The name of my homestead is derived from a classical language of India. The language is called "SANSKRIT."

There are two elements in this name. i. "vidya" = skill, knowledge, wisdom; and ii. "aalaya"= abode, home. Together the two elements would mean "abode of wisdom," or "home of knowledge," or "school."

The element "aalaya" is found in such easily recognizable names as "HIMAALAYA" = the abode of snows; or the not so easily recognizable "DEVAALAYA" = temple, or house of God.
