Technical Consultant,Metro Information Services, Nashville
December 1995 until April 1996
Provided technical support and consultation to Northern Telecom (NORTEL) for ORACLE 7 database implementation and local intranet HTML access to the ORACLE 7 database. The application provided internal company employees with up-to-date network usage statistics and news announcements. Access to the ORACLE database was provided via dynamically generated HTML displays that supported data query, update, delete and insert. Bulk data loading was accomplished via SQL*Loader and Perl scripts. ORACLE 7 DBA related functions performed included table and index creation, tablespace maintenance, and user access privileges.
Technical/Marketing Manager, Giles County Education Foundation

Also coordinated and operated a Video Conferencing site for the local county. Generated and installed HTML pages for the local site with regular updates to reflect current subscribers and local POP capabilities. Coordinated with the Internet supplier located in Knoxville, Tennessee.
SENIOR SYSTEMS ANALYST, CAE-Link
October 1988 until February 1995
Principal Project Engineer for the design, development, and implementation of a Management Information System (MIS), based upon an ORACLE RDBMS. Lead a group of developers through requirements definition, data modeling and design , implementation, and test of the system, with phased implementation. Established development standards, baseline and change control, problem tracking, and enhancement implementation. Baseline control of the system code and information model was accomplished utilizing ORACLE's CASE Tools and the features. Participated in the coding of forms and reports, and assisted the DBA in table, sequence, and index creation. The system provides the CAE-Link organization with budget, schedule, status, and technical performance information via menus and data displays accessible from any PC or workstation whether connected to the local LAN, accessed via modem from a remote site, or accessed via the Internet. The system was implemented so that the user did not require knowledge of the underlying Operating System nor knowledge of the ORACLE RDBMS. Seamless links to the features of the Unix O/S were accomplished using SQL*Forms triggers combined with P/L SQL procedural calls and UNIX shell scripts. Bulk data import and export were achieved utilizing SQL*Loader and FTP file transfer protocol. The system was originally developed on an IBM 9370 computer, utilizing a VM operating system, and was migrated to multiple UNIX platforms under Sun O/S 4.1. The system currently utilizes Version 6.0 of the ORACLE RDBMS, Version 3.0 of SQL*Forms, Version 1.1 of SQL*ReportWriter. Integrated selected commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) products for project scheduling and cost performance determination. An X-Windows capability was also required for the PC and UNIX workstation users for access to specific COTS features.
PROGRAM MANAGER, CAE-Link
April 1987 until October 1988
Directed functional organization personnel in the development, implementation , test, installation, and certification of helicopter flight trainers developed for the U.S. Navy under contract to IBM. Directly contributed to proposal preparation (cost and technical) and contract negotiations. As Program Manager, I was responsible for cost, schedule, and technical performance from contract award to customer acceptance for two major modifications to the trainers which were delivered to the U.S. Navy. Conducted monthly program reviews to internal management, and bi-monthly program reviews to the prime contractor.
TEST AND INTEGRATION PROGRAM MANAGER, CAE-Link
October 1986 until April 1987
Plan, schedule, and coordinate factory acceptance testing, site installation, site acceptance testing, and site integration for the NAVY's Light Airborne Multi-Purpose System (LAMPS) Weapons Systems Trainers at North Island Naval Air Station, San Diego, California, and Mayport Naval Air Station, Mayport, Florida. Provided the prime customer interface at the installation sites, coordinated and directed the activities of Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Configuration Management, and Integrated Logistics Support personnel assigned to accomplish the installation, testing, and customer acceptance. Also served as the single-point interface between my company and the prime contractor (IBM) for Test and Integration status.
PROJECT ENGINEER, Singer Company - Link Flight Simulation Division
June 1986 until October 1886
