In the past, we've gotten a lot of questions from people about the basics of setting up and maintaining an aquarium. This section will provide some very general guidelines that hopefully will answer the more common questions. This isn't aimed at preventing hobbyists from sending us questions they need answered. Please, if you have a question, don't hesitate to ask. We just realize that often, if you have a question, the wait for an e-mail reply can be excruciating, especially when you really want to set up that tank right NOW. In addition, it is often wise to consult a few general books on setting up aquariums. We recommend consulting more than one source because there's more than one way to do most of the stuff you'll need to do, and you'll want to have a number of options from which to choose what you think is the best for the setup you have in mind.

Also, we have to put in the standard disclaimer...

The information presented here is given in good faith. However, any advice taken from these pages is done at your own risk. We do not profess to know everything there is to know about everything aquatic, but have tried to offer some general advice and guidelines. Again the most important piece of advice we can give is to not rely on any one source - get information from as many sources as possible and use your own best judgement.

Also, if there is something you would like to see added here, or something you'd like to know more about, just ask - we're happy to help our where we can.

E-MAILWe love to hear from others in the hobby. If you have any comments, questions, funny stories, or just want to say 'hi', just click on the icon at the left to send us something.
