10th Anniversary Kickoff Party (September 2001) - by Bronwen Poultney, Grade 11 (as published in The Reporter & The Grove Examiner) :

Though it was starting to get cold and dark, kids were still lining up for one last bag of popcorn as fireworks went off September 8.  From 3 to 9 p.m., Living Waters Christian Academy kicked off its tenth year anniversary.  Despite the overcast, chilly weather, the rain held off long enough for the outdoor petting zoo, the inflatable astro-jump, and the principal dunk, in which  principal, Keith Penner and some members of the Board were dunked into a tank of frigid water.  Inside, the gymnasium was buzzing with children and adults playing games, making crafts and celebrating Jesus Christ in fellowship.  Around 5 p.m., an entire pig was brought in from a roaster out back and was carved up for supper.  After some 300 participants had their fill, the youth worship band from Spruce Grove Community Church came out and rocked it up.
