DEITIES/FAITHS
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Order of the Forge - originally a dwarven cleric order that focused on the
creation of weapons and armor and the use of them. Domains: Earth, Fire, Magic,
War (Warhammer).
"But have you the courage to stand up to fire? To
fight hot iron with only hammer and tongs?" -Hevydd
the Smith
All clerics of the Order of the Forge must have ranks in armorsmithing
and weaponsmithing.
"Then you shall make a sword and when you're done, you'll tell me which
is harder labor: smiting or smithing!"
-Hevydd the Smith<
All clerics of the Order of the Forge are only allowed
to use weapons and armor that they themselves forge. A cleric may use a weapon
or armor that they did not forge in an emergency, but then must seek atonement.
"Life's a forge! Yes, and hammer and anvil, too! You'll be roasted,
smelted, and pounded, and you'll scarce know what's happened to you. But stand
boldly to it! Metal's worthless till it's shaped and tempered!" -Hevydd the Smith
Clerics of the Order of the Forge, see combat as an
opportunity to test the worthiness of their equipment. For this reason they are
often found on the front lines of conflicts.
"Life's a forge, say I! Face the poundings; don't fear the proving; and
you'll stand well against any hammer and anvil!" -Hevydd
the Smith
Since the Order of the Forge was started by dwarves, former non-evil clerics of
Laduguer, most other races are not encouraged to
join. Since dwarves do not easily give their trust (takes about 100 years or
so), most short lived clerics are actually the children or grandchildren of
provisional members of the Order.

D’Kor:
"I have known gods. He who denies them is as blind as he who trusts
them too deeply. I seek not beyond death. It may be the blackness averred by Nemedian skeptics, or Crom’s
realm of ice and cloud, or the snowy plains of and vaulted halls of the Nordheimer’s
D'Kor, the demigod of revelry, is chaotic neutral.
He is also known as the Reveler, the Drunken One, and Keg's Bane. His
worshippers include orcs, barbarians, bards, and rogues. The domains he is
associated with are Chaos, Destruction, and Strength. D'Kor's
favored weapon is *the club (really a leg off of a table). His holy symbol is a
broken mug.
D'Kor was born of a union between a deity and an orc female (Gralga). D'Kor rose to a demigod when he lost his mortal form after
a tavern collapsed on him. The tavern had been damaged during a wrestling match
that D'Kor had taken part in. Clerics of the Reveler
tend to work as warriors when not feasting, wenching,
and drinking.
D'Kor teaches that orcs can live in (relative) peace
with other humanoids. As long as there is meat on the plate and ale in the mug
all is fine in the world. D'Kor's followers have been
known to join orc warparties
but tend to be even more unreliable then the average orc
warrior.
The only hint to D'Kor's father (besides his name) is
his striking red hair.
