WHITE ROSE RESEARCH

FAMILY, ART, ARCHITECTURAL AND HOUSE HISTORY RESEARCH SERVICE.

Senior Researcher: Allan B. Barton, BA Hons. (London), MA (York).

We are a small business based in York that offers a professional and friendly research service. The high quality of our work is guaranteed as it is backed up by academic qualifications and over ten years experience.

Principal services offered:

FAMILY HISTORY. Based in York and Lincolnshire most of our work is undertaken in that region. Full family research is undertaken, although we specialise in the more problematic early genealogies that many professional family historians avoid. Before work begins a plan of action is discussed with the client and he/she is kept updated of progress every 2-3 weeks by an interim report. At the end of the period of research the client is presented with an 'ancestor pack', that includes a report outlining our findings, a professionally produced 'family tree' and copies of all the documents we have discovered during the work.

HOUSE HISTORY. Following research and an on site consultation the client is presented with a pack containing a fully illustrated report. This report contains a description of the building, dating of individual features, a time-line demonstating uses and previous occupants of the building, and copies of documents discovered.

GUIDE WRITING We have been responsible for researching and writing a number of church guide books that bring in considerable income for the buildings we have worked with. Our principal researcher is a qualified art and architectural historian, who specialised in medieval churches, so our clients are assured of a professional service. We can see all the work through to the publishing stage.
