Native American Genealogy

We have had a number of messages come through our e-mail requesting information about Native American heritage. Unfortunately, Native American heritage can be difficult to trace if you were not raised on a reservation. Many of us only know of our heritage because the information was passed down through the generations by reference or as a family secret.

Until 20 years ago, it was not culturally acceptable to be Native American in the mainstream society. Today it is accepted as a novelty in our atmosphere of multiculturalism. Regrettably, the generations have erased much of the concrete genealogical information necessary to positively establish a Native American lineage.

We are providing these pages as a starting point for your research. As we find additional resources, we will post them. Good hunting!
