The End of Love

Well, I remember back in ‘69

Man I thought it was the best of times

The Flower Children were wild and free

Spreading love and Astrology

Everybody sang...Instead of War, let’s make Love

They protested over Vietnam

But I was busy with my school exams

I remember wishing I was there

But Dad refused to let me grow my hair

I said...Come on Dad, I just want a little Love

I didn’t make the show in New York State

I heard about the jam a bit too late

Then The Wizard came and tore it down

He took the message and turned it around

And everybody cried....This is the end of Love

We all tried to keep the dream alive

But it’s hard to do when you work from 9 to 5

The Man of Peace still sang his songs

And then this fool came and shot him down

And everybody knew.....It was the end of Love

But I remember back in ‘69

I really thought it was the best of times

I wish we all could go back again

And live the dreams that we had back then

When everybody said....Instead of War, Let’s make Love
