Meet Chase!

Chase is an American Staffordshire Terrier or AmStaff. The AmStaff is a cousin breed to the American Pit Bull Terrier or APBT. The only noticable difference between the AmStaff and the APBT, is that the AmStaff is only recognized by the AKC and the APBT is only recognized by the UKC. There are dogs that are registered in both the AKC as an AmStaff, and in the UKC as an APBT! Both breeds fall under the category and stereotype of the Pit Bull.

Chase came to our family because her own family couldn't keep her. At first, I believed the stereotypes of the breed and was afraid to adopt her. After her owner assured me that she was safe, I brought her home. Chase has turned out to be the most lovable dog I have ever known and I don't think I will ever find another breed I love as much! As it turns out, most dogs in the pit bull category are just like her.

Chase was the driving force for me and Chris to get involved with Pit Bull rescue. We couldn't find a Pit Bull rescue around here that was willing to help, so we're on our own.

If you have doubts about the Pit Bulls temperment, please take a second to read this document about the breed and check out the BAD RAP website.

Zoey

Zoey was our first rescue. She was underweight and scared to death! After a few weeks at our house, she was full of confidence. Zoey is very lovable, I would have kept her in a second, but we can't save them all if we keep them all! Zoey found a good home in West Virginia. Chris and I drove her out there and spent the weekend with her new family. Zoey has a new big brother and sister, a pit bull and a boxer.

Echo

Echo is our latest rescue. We adopted him from the shelter on March 28th. He is extremely lovable, and so mellow. Echo is starting to learn what it's like to live in a loving home - he's already spoiled by our new couches!!
