THE SASSY MONKEY FOOTBALL POOL
DRAFT DAY
The 2004 (7th year) pool will consist of 12 players. The draft, in the form of rounds of "Bidding" will be run as follows: 12 players in a circular arrangement, each take turns (clockwise) in bringing up a player to be bid upon. Poolers have one minute maximum to indicate their move (i.e. to bid, or to pass). Players may bid as much as they want on a player, but must have 16 football players (2 Quarter Backs, 4 Running Backs, 4 Wide Receivers, 1 Tight end, 2 Kickers, and 3 more of any RB, WR, or TE) in total at the end of the draft to fill out your team's roster. The minimum bid on a player is 10 cents. The increments for bidding must go at least by "10's" (i.e. 20, 30, 40 cents etc.) Once you have "passed" once on the clockwise bidding of a player, you have lost your right to bid on that player again. NFL players introduced must be identified by team and position. Players must be drafted into the NFL to be bid upon.
POINT SYSTEM
The points are given as follows:
6 points for a touchdown (thrown, ran, caught, recovered)
3 points for a field goal (0-49 yards)
5 points for a field goal (50+ yards)
1 point for every 10 yards rushing or receiving
1 point for every 25 yards passing over 100 yards
THE BASIS
There are seventeen weeks in the football season. Each team will play a different team every week (Thursday through Monday), calculating the points by the Toronto Sun. Every player on your team has his points count each week. The team that gets the most points in the week in question wins that week and receives 2 points. In case of a tie, each of the two teams in question will receive 1 point. A team in the "A" division will play each of the three teams in his division 3 times and will play the other 2 divisions once. The resulting structure will give each team 17 games with the opportunity to get 34 points.
COST
The cost of the pool is fifty dollars ($50.00)
TEAM
Your team must consist of:
1 Quarter Back
1 Kicker
4 Running Backs

1 reserve Kicker (for use only in main K bye week or injury)
TRADES
If you wish to trade players, you may do so at any time (trades take effect at the beginning of the next week). Trades must be communicated to Mat Crossen for trades to become "legal". The roving trading committee has the right to eliminate any clearly unfair deal. Trades such as 3 players for 2 are not allowed. The trading deadline is Week 13, Sunday December 5, 2004.
Remember: Players cannot play out of position (i.e. Quarter Back at Wide Receiver, Wide Receiver at Running Back, etc, during the regular season). You may make trades for pool money and draft picks. All pool money will be added or subtracted to your team salary before next years bidding takes place.

FINAL ROSTER DRAFT
There will be a final roster draft held on Week 13, Sunday December 5, 2004. This will allow struggling players a chance to pick up point getting players for the rest of the regular season and it will allow players that have set playoff hopes an attempt to enhance themselves on certain playoff teams. It will cost nothing. Players have to drop a player in order to acquire a new player. It will be allowed that each pool player can drop up to 5 players and pick up 5 new ones. If you acquire picks through trades, you may use those as well. If you deal your picks then you can use what ever picks you have left.
* If you aren't at the draft, you can participate in it (whoever does not make the draft will not be able to participate until teams that made the draft have made all of their picks). *Subject to change*
