The Ana da Hora Workers Center is looking for volunteer ESL teachers This non-profit organization is run by and addresses the needs of the Brazilian immigrant community in the greater Boston area. Classes are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. There are in immediate need of a Tuesday night teacher. Experience is preferred but not necessary.

The Massachusetts Alliance of Portuguese Speakers (MAPS) is seeking volunteers to teach English as a second (ESL) language classes at its Cambridge office.

Candidates should speak more than one language, have some ESL teaching experience, and have a genuine interest in helping immigrants learn English. They should also be sensitive to different cultures.

The Somerville Public Library offers an ESL program which consists of ESL conversation classes as well as a large collection of ESL print and non-print materials. We are currently looking for volunteers who are willing to meet with ESL learners once a week for one to two hour sessions.
