Mount Akdagh

Mount Akdag at 3024m is the highest point in the Taurus Mountains in southwestern Turkey. In August 1997 I was on an Explore holiday for 14 days, hiking between villages scattered in the foothills. On day 10 of the trip we arose especially early in order to climb it. The silhouette above is our first view of the mountain at 6:45 that morning.
