Rules and Procedures for Mr. Hale’s Classes

Rules:

1.      Don’t Lie to Me

 

Procedures:

1.      Don’t be late for class - be seated and ready before the bell rings.

2.      Treat others with respect.

3.      When working in groups use a 3 foot voice.

4.      There will be 4 hall passes per person for the entire year.  Use them wisely.

5.      Homework assignments are listed on the board for the week - use this to plan accordingly.

6.      We work from bell to bell.  Do not expect to pack up with 5 minutes to go in the period.

 

Grading:

1.      Each homework set will be worth 10 points.  For each day that they are turned in late the score is reduced by a letter grade.  There will typically be an assignment every day.

2.      Quizzes will be worth 100 points each.  There is generally 1 quiz per week.

3.      Tests will be worth 200 points each and occur at the end of each chapter.

4.      Test corrections will be worth 200 points each.  There will be more details on the requirements for these later.

5.      There will also be a class participation grade worth 100 points per grading period.  This is based on intelligently answered questions in class and problems worked out on the board.

6.      A comprehensive exam will be worth 20% of the semester grade.

 

Materials for class:

1.      Pencils with erasers

2.      Notebook paper

3.      Graph paper

4.      Pens for grading

5.      Ruler, protractor, or other tools of the trade

6.      Optional: graphing calculator

 

*** PARENT NOTE ***  Due to a prior conflict I will not be here for the scheduled open house night.  Therefore, I will be having an open house to meet with all of those interested on September 8th.  At 6:30 PM I will meet with the parents of the students in Algebra II, and at 7:00 PM I will meet with the parents of the Geometry students.  I hope to meet you then!
