The Good Samaritan

HISTORY:

The Good Samaritan School was founded on October 7, 1996, when Rev. Jean-Elie Millien, an Episcopal priest, founder of the Epiphanie Episcopal Church in Stamford, Connecticut, retired and relocated to Haiti on March 1996.

Rev. Millien and his wife Mona have a long history in providing literacy assistance to a variety of communities in the United States, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico and in Haiti prior to their migration to the U.S. in 1987.  However, this time they targeted solely children from a destitute community located in the outskirts of Port-au-Prince, the capital of Haiti.

In addition to the academic program being offered, EBS is affiliated with Centre de Sante Les Rois Mages and Hopital St, Croix, (a hospital owned and directed by the Episcopal Diocese of Haiti) to provide easy access to basic health care and nutrition.
